The Jimmy Jib camera crane is a highly versatile, modular system designed from interlocking 3-ft aluminum sections, allowing the arm to be customized anywhere between 6 ft and 40 ft. This flexibility makes it ideal for everything from tight studio environments to dramatic sweeping shots on large sets. The crane mounts securely on a tripod paired with a 3-wheel or 4-wheel base, and a dedicated skate-wheel base is available for dolly track setups, offering exceptionally smooth and dynamic camera movement.

​What is the working area footprint needed?Always account for adequate rear clearance to accommodate the jib tail arm and its operator. Proper workspace is crucial for unrestricted movement and safe operation. For jibs up to 15 ft, allow for roughly a 12’ x 12’ open footprint and for jibs 18ft up to 24ft is recommended to have a 20'x20' clearance.

What kind of cameras can be mount on a Jib?
A Jimmy Jib can handle almost all broadcast video cameras and film cameras within a weight of 50 pounds.

Lens compatibility...ENG video lenses are fully compatible with Jimmy Jib focus servos. Smaller-style cameras can also be used; however, their zoom and focus must be controlled with accessories provided by the camera manufacturer or aftermarket systems such as Varizoom. Film-style wireless focus systems, like BarTech, can also be integrated for specialized setups.

Cinematic Style? No problem! As a DP, Producer, or Director, you may have specific camera preferences—and that’s never a problem. We have extensive experience flying ARRI, RED, CANON, SONY, and many other camera systems (including DSLRs).
